The unique advantages of the transit capabilities of the Republic of Belarus at the XVII International Conference TransNet: Backbone Communication Networks
24-25 March 2026

The International telecommunications operator NTEC to a wide audience TransNet updated the economic and geopolitical advantages of data traffic transit through the Republic of Belarus. Thus, Alyaksey Tsymbalau, Director of NTEC, presented a report entitled “Convergence of Technologies in the Development of Cross-Border Routes through Belarus” at the plenary session “Modernization and Development of Telecom Infrastructure: Equipment, Technologies, Innovations,” with a presentation of the next historical growth record of transit through Belarus, highlighted the successes of NTEC in the development of the transport network, emphasized special attention to the construction of new, direct and highly reliable optical communication lines, with the development of new technological routes with optimization of technical solutions.
The active interest of the conference participants aroused by the technological and economic features of the highways from Moscow to Frankfurt on Main built by NTEC together with JSC "Rask" and JSC "Yulk". The new, premium-time delay highway in southern Belarus, the "Southern Route," which has just been commissioned, offers an optimal balance between construction costs, durability, reliability, and uninterrupted operation. The obvious potential of these projects was noted, taking into account the growing trend of transferring international transit traffic from the "northern" route to the route through Belarus, the timeliness and relevance of the proactive investment strategy implemented by the NTEC, and the company's readiness to quickly respond to the dynamically changing conditions of the data transit market, which is causing an exponential growth in orders for transit from Asia to Europe directly through the NTEC infrastructure.

Given the current trend of growth in international transit voice traffic, the National Center for Telecommunications (NTEC) participated in a discussion session entitled "The Voice and Messaging Transit Market." To attract international transit voice traffic volumes, taking into account the geographic, technological, and geopolitical advantages of the Republic of Belarus, NTEC Deputy Director Vitaly Karbovsky actively participated in discussions on the dynamics of cross-border voice traffic transit, the emergence of new international players in the market, tariff dynamics over the past three years for cross-border voice and messaging, market participants' expectations for the coming year, and legislative measures to protect citizens from online and telephone fraud (a ban on international calls without the subscriber's consent and mandatory labeling of such calls).
